Moriah Brown, MPH, CHES®, is a Certified Health Education Specialist with more than five years of experience advancing community health through education, prevention, program coordination, and community engagement. Her work has focused on improving health outcomes by developing meaningful partnerships, delivering culturally responsive health education, and creating opportunities for individuals and communities to thrive.
Moriah's public health journey began at East Carolina University, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in public health with a concentration in Community Health. After graduating she moved to Newark, New Jersey, where she served as an AmeriCorps Teaching Fellow/Lead, supporting students through tutoring and mentorship. She later expanded her work in public health focusing on HIV/STI, and sexual health education through positions with the Pitt County AIDS Service Organization (PiCASO) and Wake County's HIV/STD/Hep C Community Program. In these roles, she provided health education, promoted routine screening, conducted HIV/STI testing, and worked to increase awareness and access to prevention services throughout the community.
Her experience also includes coordinating university-based peer health education programs at Saint Augustine's University, Shaw University, and North Carolina Central University, where she supported student leaders in delivering health promotion initiatives on their campuses. Additionally, she spearheaded the Wake County Faith Coalition, fostering partnerships with faith-based organizations to decrease sexual health stigma in our community and expand access to health education and prevention resources.
Currently, Moriah serves as a Project Coordinator within a hospital-based Community Health and Engagement department, where she leads initiatives focused on entity support, addressing barriers to health, and pathways into healthcare careers. Guided by a commitment to health equity, community partnership, and evidence-based practice, she brings a thoughtful and collaborative approach to every project, training, and consultation opportunity.
